CamNesa worked with the Port of Milford Haven to develop the business case for an investment in new fisheries handling and advance premises for processing.
Having secured European Fisheries Fund for the build of the premises, the first businesses have moved into the unit and have started processing and smoking fish products.
Led by CamNesa Associate, Eric Davies, we were commissioned to evaluate the impact and economic contribution of the Cognation Mountain Bike initiative across South Wales. As a multi agency project with elements of private / pubic sector partnership working, we were tasked with evaluating the success of the differing operational models and other elements of the initiative such as brand recognition.
Evaluation of Cywain Environment – Menter a Busnes
CamNesa was commissioned to undertake an evaluation of the pilot project project delivery of Cywain Environment. Using action research we engaged with the client on the development of projects in the agri-environment sector and where possible, creating outcomes tied to the Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) agenda.
Our work with the client lead to the main outcome of the development of a potential delivery model to support the development of PES in Wales with key stakeholder involvement.
Understanding the Welsh Fisheries Supply Chain
Seafish Industry Authority commissioned CamNesa to undertake and end to end study of the fisheries supply chain in Wales which included an assessment of the catching, aquaculture and hand gathering sectors as well as the onshore fish processing sector through to consumer.
The final report has resulted in the recommendation of the development of a Welsh Seafood Strategy in an attempt to bridge the gap between those employed in the provision of raw materials and the processing sector.
Fisheries Local Action Groups
CamNesa as been commissioned to undertake work across a range of CLLD activity of FLAGs including the development and consultative processes of local strategy development through to the provision of animation and communications services for specific FLAG areas.
We have also delivered industry awareness projects which can be seen at www.pysgod.wales and undertaken local industry analysis for groups.
